HI, my name is Laurie Krumm (upper left), and I'm the Director of A Brighter Day Ministries.

Having experienced the loss of my husband several years ago and working as a bereavement counselor for over three years, the first ministry I started was LIGHT Bereavement Support Group Ministry. LIGHT stands for Living In Grace and Healing Together. LIGHT is an open-ended support group that meets every other week. This allows those grieving to come when they are ready and stay as long as they want. Grief is unique to every person and we want to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the bereaved.  If you'd like more information, please contact us.

I'm proud to say that we are actively partnering with churches here in the Yuma area.  Our main partnership is with Hands of Grace Ministry.  Hands of Grace is a community outreach of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Yuma, Arizona and has been operating for years. They provide free clothing and food to those in need, along with warm smiles and prayer.  This partnership will allow us to offer those services, along with assistance acquiring ID, social security card, transportation, bereavement support group and free Biblical counselling.

After listening to the stories of those on the streets and living in poverty, it became clear that there were people out there who were "falling through the cracks" of society. My heart was stirred! There were just too many stories of people who had lost hope because of a "glitch" and almost all were victims of crimes. Some were deaf, had lost/stolen ID, couldn't figure out how to get a birth certificate, or were suffering with some type of mental illness and lacking the ability to get the mental health assistance they needed.  We listen to life stories, assess where people are at and do our best to plug them in to existing resources or meet the needs ourselves.
